Katy has been BEGGING and PLEADING with me all week to adopt Monroe...Oh how I WISH I COULD!!! I figured I'd post his picture and the information so maybe his future mommy and daddy will find him.....

Friends, I come to you tonight begging for your prayers. My heart is so burdened for a sweet little boy who so urgently needs our prayers...and a family!
Monroe is 5 years old. He is so fortunate to still be in the baby orphanage. For those of you unfamiliar with adoptions in Ukraine, around a child's 5th birthday they are transferred to a mental asylum. All special needs children go there. For most, if not all, it is a death sentence. They simply cannot survive the heinous conditions.

Isn't he just too sweet for words?? I just want to pick him up and HOLD him!!!
Monroe WILL be transferred in just 6 months time. That's how long he has left to find his family. The institution that he will be moved to is known to be one of the worst in the country. There is no way sweet Monroe will survive there. Absolutely no way!
This adorable little boy deserves the love of a family and the medical intervention that he so desperately needs. The fact that Monroe has CP should just be a big "whatever." Just like every other child, he deserves a mommy and a daddy to help him become ALL that God has created him to be. There is nothing "wrong" with Monroe, but everything RIGHT with him. He is created in the image of an Almighty Father--fearfully and wonderfully made JUST the way he is!
A missionary visited with him last month and shared this about him...
"I met with the doctor in his Groupa house who brought me back to meet him. The head doctor wanted me to meet the children who needed equipment. While measuring him for a chair, she explained to me that it was more important for him to find a family. He will be transferred in 6 months to the worst institution, RESTRAINED in a a crib in a DARK ROOM. She broke down in tears! Monroe has spastic CP in all 4 limbs and is globally delayed. He is able to recongize the voices of his careworkers and understand simple directions. However, due to his spacity he is unable to do much more at this time. With therapy he would improve but will always have some sort of limitations. His temperment was very sweet and his eyes twinkled. He needs a family FAST!!"
I look at this sweet boy in the picture and I am absolutely certain of one thing--he will blossom, grow and astound everyone with his rapid development once he is HOME! I know he will! Monroe just needs to be given a chance at life, and opportunity to be loved and to love. Sadly however, he will never reach any kind of milestones once he is placed in the asylum, he will wither away in the dark room and die alone. FACT!
Please will you pray with me? Please help us spread the word about Monroe so he can find his family!! All he needs is someone to step forward and say "Here I am Lord, send me!"
Everything else is already provided....due to an incredibly generous benefactor, the adoption costs for Monroe are completely COVERED!!!!! Monroe has a $20,000 grant....
$20,000.00!!!!!
That is enormous!! Never in my years involved in the adoption community have I ever heard of such an amazing donation for one child..but this little guy needs it!!
Someone asked me if I would go and bring him home? Yes. In a heartbeat. Its a beautiful thing watching children like this change before your eyes. Its breathtaking--a miracle! I cannot even describe what special needs adoption has done to us--it has changed us forever! But unfortunately we don't qualify to adopt at this poitn and there is absolutely no way around it.
I know there is a family out there searching for this angelic little boy. They just haven't found him yet. Will you please help me spread the word, please? Together as the body of Christ we can find Monroe's family!
Time is RUNNING out. Once he is transferred it will be nearly impossible to rescue him. Someone needs to do it NOW!!
I appreciate all the prayers for Monroe more than you can know! I know the Lord will provide a family for him..are you the one??
If anyone wants more information on Monroe or how to proceed with adoption, please contact Andrea Roberts from Reeces Rainbow at bamaroberts@comcast.net
Standing and trusting in the life of this child...

I know he will find a home soon. My heart aches for him and having adopted 4 special needs kids I know how he can grow in a nurturing family.

Oh my gosh Rachel, he is adorable and this is such a terribly sad story. I truly hope he finds the home he deserves.
He has the sweetest little face/smile ever! I will keep him in my prayers, that he finds the home he deserves. I will also help to pass on this story/request...
This story is heartbreaking. I will pray that he finds a family. What a swett little face.
