The Weekend

Man it was a busy weekend...started Friday night when we went to Eau Claire to meet up with friends for dinner...we tried a new mongolian place called HuHot and it was SO DELISH!!!! Then we did some shopping in Eau Claire....

Saturday morning we got up early and headed to the Mpls area with Katy and her friend Jennique...in celebration of Katy's birthday we got her two tickets to see Skillet and TobyMac and she was so excited to go!!

The weather was HORRIBLE to travel in...we stopped counting when we saw 60+ cars in the ditch...Kevin was a good driver and kept us on the roads and out of the ditch but man it was definitely white knuckle driving..I never prayed so hard to just reach the Mall of America!!

At one point Kevin hit a patch of ice and we were sideways on the highway but he knew what to do and got us straightened out again and back in our lane..we were just lucky we didn't have any traffic next to us when that happened....uuuggghhh it was a very stressful drive!!

But finally we made it to the Mall of America..the girls ran off with their money and Kevin and I finished up our Christmas shopping..yeah we're all done!! That's a nice feeling....then after the girls had shopped we headed over to our hotel...while we were driving in I booked us a hotel at the Sheraton as I knew we wouldn't be driving home late at night after the concert.

Then we went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory...they even brought out Katy a piece of cheesecake...she loved it!!!
Then from there we headed to the concert...parking was a nightmare as the roads weren't plowed yet and there were no signs for the parking garages...it was not a good time in the Leshko car!!haha But we finally found our way into the concert and once again the girls took off with their two tickets (as they were sitting on the floor)..here is a pic of them ready to take off.....
Kevin and I had seats on the lower level and we ended up with better seats than they had...sshhh don't tell them that!!haha We were only 8 rows up and overlooked the stage..it was awesome!! The concert was SO LOUD and there was fire, steam, fireworks, explosions, etc....both Skillet and TobyMac put on a great concert!! The place was completely sold out....yeah!!! I like to see Christian artists selling out huge arenas...it was an awesome concert!!!

Headed back to the hotel and got up on Sunday morning for the drive home..by now at least the streets had been plowed so we made it home in good time. Now its time for another week.....
