Katy

Katy has been so busy lately (I guess this is what is preparing me for college when she goes away and I never see her)...I'm not even sure I posted this on here but Katy has another job..she still works at Culvers but she's now working at a nursing home assisting in the dietician section and she LOVES IT!!! But now the kid literally works every day (at one job or the other!!) I never see her.... Last week Sunday-Tuesday she went to Appleton for a state competition that she qualified for in Math...there were 18 of the top students in the entire state competing and only the top 2 were able to go to Nationals. She was HOPING and PRAYING she'd place in the top 2...she didn't but that's okay..I told her to think of how many students she beat out to get as far as she did in the top 18 in the state..that's pretty freaking amazing!!! Then on Friday-Saturday she went to Madison for her state speech competition and this is the speech she was doing on Anti Abortion/stem cell research...imagine giving a conservative speech like that to a bunch of liberals..she was so nervous!! She told me she ended up bombing it and then about 2 hours later she texted me and told me she placed 2nd and only missed first place by 2 points on her speech...WOO HOO!!!! We're so darn proud of her... Maybe now things can slow down a little bit for her.....
